Family owned & operated

Built in 1796 for David Jones, a wealthy sheep farmer on sub medieval origins.
Nestled in one of the wildest and most breathtaking parts of Wales, our hotel is a haven for the true connoisseur. Surrounded by vast expanses of mountains and moorland, it offers a unique escape into nature, renowned for its rare bird species and the charming presence of little sheep roaming the landscape. This is a place where luxury meets the untamed wilderness, providing an unforgettable experience for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty.

Famous guests included Micheal Caine, Hattie Jacques and Patrick Macnee. The Hotel closed in the late 80’s when it returned as a private residence

Dan

Growing up on the edge of the beautiful New Forest, my passion for nature and the outdoors has been a lifelong journey. After completing Game and Wildlife Countryside Management courses, I had the privilege of working on some of the most prestigious large estates in the UK. Over the past 20 years, I’ve gained extensive experience working alongside farming, forestry, and other environmental organizations.

My deep knowledge of nature, wildlife, and land management has shaped my career, and I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned. Whether you have questions about wildlife, farming, or forestry on Llwynderw, feel free to reach out—I’m here to help!
